The AccuBuccal Collection Kit is used for the purpose of collecting DNA in the oral epithelial cells. This kit is designed to collect the highest quality DNA from the saliva sample and the stability of the sample is preserved for both transportation and long-term storage.

User Guide

  • STEP 01

    Open the swab tube carefully making sure not to touch or contaminate the swab tip.

  • STEP 02

    Swab the inner buccal area evenly for both cheeks 20 times.

  • STEP 03

    Break the swab tip into the collection tube that is pre-filled with the preservation buffer.

  • STEP 04

    Once the collection tube is sealed, shake the tube 10 times to mix the oral epithelial sample and the preservation buffer.

  • STEP 05

    Place the collection tube back into the kit and remove the protective seal on the yellow sticker underneath the front side of the kit. Make sure the kit is sealed well and mail it out to the designated laboratory for analysis.

CAUTION

  • 1

    Please refrain from brushing teeth, eating food (including water), chewing gum, smoking, and rinsing with mouthwash for 30 minutes before sampling. Before sampling, gently massage both cheeks by rubbing them in circles to activate the oral epithelial cells. Remove lipstick and lip stains (tints).
